General program information:

The Texas Heatwave Soccer Club ("Club") believes that the pursuit of excellence in sports helps to develop maturity in children and young adults and that the experiences a player has with the Club will be beneficial throughout his or her lifetime.  The Club believes that a youth sports program should be holistic and that competition should produce more than wins.

Winning and competition are only part of the equation of a successful program or season.  Winning is transient, but life skills learned on the field of play and in training sessions are enduring and last a lifetime.  Good sportsmanship, physical fitness, goal setting, self-evaluation, problem solving, dealing with dissapointment, developing a positive self-concept and group loyalty are skills and ideals which can be utilized long after a players career has ended.  To this end, the Club will strive to instill these skills that will enhance a child's development as he or she matures to adulthood.

Select teams are formed for a full year:  June to June, which is the Fall 09/Spring 10 season.

There are three tier levels of competitive soccer:
 
Division 1 – highest level; governed and administered by Eastern District Division One Assoc. (EDDOA)*premier level teams are the elite level of Division I. (All U-11 and U-12 8v8 teams will be coordinated here)
 
Super II  – next level; governed by Timberline Youth Soccer Assoc. (TYSA)
 
Division II  – lower level; governed by Timberline Youth Soccer Assoc. (TYSA)
 
Competitive teams are formed by ability, based strictly on evaluation by our professional training staff.
